The Union Construction Workers’ Compensation Program (UCWCP) is a separate program created by the trades and their signatory contractors in an effort to save costs and speed up the return to work. Getting back to work quickly is great, don’t get me wrong, but if you’re still injured, the last thing you want is to be forced to return because your benefits have been cut off.
In the UCWCP, you must go to specific doctors,.If you are sent to a Dispute Resolution Exam (DRE) and that doctor gives an unfavorable report, your case could be over right then and there!
