About McCartin Law Firm

You deserve an attorney who cares.

Helping the injured and disabled is my calling, not just a career.

I grew up in a union family. As the fourth generation to work as a Union Pipefitter (UA #597), I saw the devastating effects that a work injury can have on close family members, and how it can leave them disabled and incapable of returning to their livelihood.

I attended Middlebury College (consistently ranked as one of the top 5 colleges in the country). While my classmates jockeyed for jobs on Wall Street, I worked summers as a Union Pipefitter.

After graduating from college, I worked as a Pipeliner, and then became a Union Organizer with the Service Employees’ International Union (SEIU). I helped nurses, nurse aids and medical assistants stand up for their rights. I led a campaign that helped hundreds of Personal Care Attendants successfully form their first union.

I then went on to represent the United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters and Service Techs (UA) on Capitol Hill. I led their lobbying on health insurance, ERISA, infrastructure, energy and worker safety.

The Building & Construction Trades Dep’t. of the AFL-CIO, now North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) came calling next. There I rose to become the Deputy Director of Government Affairs. Again, I represented them on health insurance, ERISA, worker safety and numerous other issues.

Wanting to start a family, I returned to the Midwest, and attended the University of Minnesota Law School on a Dean’s Scholarship, where I worked on the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science & Technology, becoming an Editor in my final year.

I then worked for a large Workers’ Compensation and Long Term Disability law firm in the Twin Cities, where I represented hundreds of clients, winning them millions of dollars, and gaining invaluable experience.

I started McCartin Law Firm, because I wanted to provide the highest caliber of representation to the injured and disabled, and that is what I do.
